Workshop 3: Material Modeling Workshop

Week 2: Homework

For homework we were required to walk from Hyde Park to Circular Quay and take photos and make a poster of our experience.

For this exercise I chose to use photography of my whole experience. Starting from the museum I was surrounded by the urban atmosphere with tall buildings shadowing over me. However, even in the middle of there was a void/emptiness in the city that was Hyde Park. In Hyde Park it seems like you are in a completely different place, a different world. It is an empty space in the city that allows you to relax and lose yourself with nature but over the tree tops you can still see the top of the buildings peaking through.  When you’re immersed in this sanctuary there are many paths to choose and follow, but there is one particular road that leads you away to somewhere unknown.  Further down this road the trees cover you in this space and you can’t see anything but straight ahead. It leads you down and out of the park and back into the city. This city however is different to the initially in. It seems like it’s a tunnel that leads you through the city and at the end it opens up to the harbour at circular quay. At circular quay it is a totally different experience again something that is very different to the city centre and Hyde Park. When walking in circular quay the whole view opens up and you see the amazing Opera House. Through this walk you transition between 3 different worlds which at the end of the walk I felt amazed and surprised that you could experience all that in a short period of time. This
